Krispy Kreme has decided against expanding its Winston-Salem facility, a project it announced in early December with a promise of 180 new jobs. The company confirmed its change in plans Wednesday following its notice March 10 to the North Carolina Department of Commerce that it was closing its Concord plant that makes packaged products, costing 102 workers their jobs. It will maintain its existing operation in Winston-Salem with nearly 300 employees, the company said. 'Our fresh daily doughnut business is strong, profitable and growing quickly.
